About The Position

The Branch Sales Manager (BSM) is responsible for driving revenue through the rental and sales of trailers, including new Stoughton Trailers and long-term leasing. The role also involves the purchase and resale of used trailers, marketing of ancillary services, and comprehensive P&L management. The BSM is expected to maintain a high volume of sales calls, utilize consultative sales techniques, and effectively manage their sales territory. This position requires some overnight travel and diligent use of the CRM system for logging sales activities and account management. The BSM must also contribute to a team environment and perform all tasks safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a successful track record in sales to the transportation industry.
  • Strong relationship management skills with branch employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Business acumen and understanding of profit motives and drivers.
  • Understanding of the profit drivers of the business.
  • Experience in selling value-added services.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills; skilled in resolving customer/company disputes.
  • Ability to occasionally check in and out trailers on and off of rental.
  • Willingness to help and assist the operations manager in times of crisis to maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Experience with a high percentage of cold calling in a large branch territory.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Desire to achieve and make six figures plus.
  • Ambitious; willing to go above and beyond what is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Rental of trailers through personal sales calls, marketing, and relationship building.
  • Achieve one million dollars in long-term lease revenue per year.
  • Sales of new Stoughton Trailers within the assigned territory.
  • Purchase and resale of used trailers as opportunities arise.
  • Marketing of ancillary services such as Collision Damage Waiver and protected trailer parking.
  • P&L management, including the ability to manage, predict, and react to trends based on financial information.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis and maintain good attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain handbooks.
  • Make a total of 40 personal sales calls per week, with 20% being scheduled appointments.
  • Practice active consultative sales philosophy and integrate it into sales presentations.
  • Develop and implement a logistically logical sales plan for territory management, submitted weekly.
  • Perform some overnight travel to outlining areas of the branch territory.
  • Log all sales calls and activity into the CRM system by Monday of the following week.
  • Use CRM information as a tool for account management.
  • Work and communicate in a team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.
