About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers using guidance, product knowledge, and a positive attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also involves shifting between customer assistance and warehouse tasks throughout the day. This position reports to the Branch Manager.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer experience, including selecting products, entering orders accurately, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Identify ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences in email, by phone, and in person.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems used for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain branch appearance to Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
