About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers through guidance, product knowledge, and a positive attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also involves shifting between customer assistance and a variety of warehouse tasks. The position reports to the Branch Manager. This is a part-time position at Grainger’s Austin, Texas branch. You must be flexible to work at any time within branch operating hours, safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier loads with assistance, and learn to operate powered industrial equipment.

Responsibilities
- Manage the customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Identify ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences in email, over the phone, and in person.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems used for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the branch meets Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
