About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers by using guidance, product knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, create customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also involves shifting focus throughout the day from assisting customers to performing warehouse tasks. You will report to the Branch Manager.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work any time within the branch’s hours of operation.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customers’ vehicles.
- Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences by email, phone, and in person.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received.
- Help with merchandising and perform showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the branch meets Grainger standards for appearance.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
