About The Position

California Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Branch Relationship Banker (Personal Banker) for its Golden Triangle branch in La Jolla, California. The role provides full-service banking and personalized financial solutions to new and existing clients, with an emphasis on building relationships, sales, and customer service. The banker also supports branch operations and may be reassigned to another location within 30 miles of the branch, with proper notice, depending on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 4 years of experience as a universal banker, personal banker, or in a similar retail banking role; an equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
Advanced knowledge of mathematical calculations and standard banking products, services, and transactions.
Advanced knowledge of retail products and services.
Working knowledge of consumer lending applications.
Excellent verbal and written customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Effective selling, cross-selling, and referral skills.
Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze customer credit data and related financial information.
Advanced interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Proficiency in basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver an exceptional full-service banking experience to new and existing clients through relationship-building, sales, and personalized service.
Plan and host branch events and community outreach activities to strengthen local relationships.
Open new accounts and support consumer lending needs, assisting clients with financial services and solutions.
Address client concerns directly or connect clients with appropriate internal partners.
Recommend relevant bank products and services, including commercial offerings, based on client needs.
Follow up with clients to build lasting connections and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience.
Process cash transactions and open and maintain accounts as needed.
Originate and close consumer or small business loans as needed.
Support daily branch operations, including transaction processing and other customer service responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Accept possible reassignment to an alternate location within a reasonable distance (30 miles of the branch) with proper notice, depending on business needs.
