About The Position

The Branch Operation Supervisor will work with the Branch Operation Manager to manage daily driver route assignments while utilizing technology provided by the Logistics Department. The Supervisor has the responsibility to ensure the Service Technicians meet the needs of the customers while complying with DOT regulations including time worked and time-driven as well as all applicable regulations. The Branch Operation Supervisor is responsible for understanding the P&L for his/her area of responsibility with the assistance of the BOM and is to assist in staying within the budgeted expenses and to meet the revenue goals each month for the branch.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Knowledge of CDL regulations
  • Knowledge of multiple types of trucks
  • Ability to prioritize and be organized
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • 5 years of management experience
  • Transportation industry experience
  • Auto maintenance experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily driver route assignments utilizing technology provided by the Logistics Department.
  • Ensure Service Technicians meet customer needs while complying with DOT regulations (time worked, time-driven) and all applicable regulations.
  • Understand the P&L for the area of responsibility and assist in staying within budgeted expenses and meeting revenue goals.
  • Perform up to 4 Route Observations per month.
  • Perform monthly vehicle inspections on all vehicles.
  • Actively learn and shadow BOM for a proactive approach to customers, build relationships, communicate, visit face to face and by phone, prevent issues before they become a problem, resolve any issues, and keep their business.
  • Ensure Service Technicians are in uniform and vehicles are clean, representing a professional and positive image of the company.
  • Work closely with the BOM on understanding the Fleet maintenance team and other vendors to ensure the best possible service for vehicles and equipment (visit once or twice monthly).
  • Work closely with drivers and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Maintain an on-hand inventory of supplies/tools and commonly needed equipment to minimize lost time due to outages while preventing an overstocked situation.
  • Relay all needs to the BOM for final approval.
  • Monitor and provide performance feedback on a consistent and timely basis.
  • Know, understand, and comply with the regulations & permitting requirements for all entities in the area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the BOM to understand every piece of equipment in the fleet.
  • In the event of an emergency or accident, follow protocol and take the lead if the BOM is unavailable.
  • Maintain a listing of emergency contacts as well as team member contact numbers.
  • Complete and/or check daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork (e.g., logs, work orders, DVCR’s, payroll, downtime reports, missed services).
  • Assign routes or take customer calls following standard Company practices and procedures.
  • Solve problems, resolve differences, and prioritize and multi-task.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Ensure drivers conform to all safety and DOT regulations and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Drive when emergencies arise.
  • Train and develop employees.
  • Be on-call nights and weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
