About The Position

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for managing, directing, and leading all functions within a branch, with primary areas of accountability including productivity, overtime management, hours per stop, service quality and timeliness, and asset and fleet management. This role is also responsible for the P&L and implementation of an annual business plan and branch strategies, ensuring monthly revenue goals are met and budgeted expenses are adhered to. The position requires open communication with customers, a proactive approach to building relationships, and swift resolution of issues. Safety and compliance are paramount, requiring the manager to set a strong example, ensure adherence to safety processes and standards, and manage regulatory requirements. People engagement is key, focusing on creating a trusting and teamwork-oriented atmosphere, providing daily feedback, hiring and training high-quality team members, and conducting annual performance appraisals. The role involves managing multiple remote locations and requires travel.

Requirements

  • 3 years in management and or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated good people skill, decision making ability and problem solving.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and be organized.
  • Must be able to solve problems, resolve differences, and prioritize.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks resulting in positive solutions.
  • Computer skills; competent in MS Office software (Word and Excel).
  • Organizational and accountability skills.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate openly with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Take a proactive approach to customers, build relationships, communicate, visit face to face and by phone, prevent issues before they become a problem, resolve any issues quickly and completely.
  • Meet customer expectations for on-time performance and service quality.
  • Set the example for making safety the top priority.
  • Ensure LES safety processes and standards are adhered to and the team maintains the proper level of risk awareness.
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and openly.
  • Know, understand, and comply with the regulations & permitting requirements for all entities in your area of responsibility.
  • Perform routine safety walk-arounds and inspections.
  • In the event of an emergency or accident take the lead and follow company protocol for reporting and resolution, including initiating a root cause analysis meeting.
  • Assure daily vehicle inspections are performed and exceptions are resolved timely.

  • Monitor daily route compliance to assure routes are performed as designed.
  • Ensure that your service fleet is operating at a high standard, performing vehicle inspections regularly, and working closely with fleet maintenance providers.
  • Maintain an on-hand inventory of supplies/tools and commonly needed equipment to minimize lost time due to outages while preventing overstocking.
  • Assigning routes or taking customer calls in accordance with standard Company practices and procedures.
  • Perform Route Observations to assure service quality and good driving behavior.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and teamwork that values the contributions of all employees and supports a high-performance culture.
  • Engage the team daily to identify issues, provide direction and feedback.
  • Hire high-quality team members and train them effectively for the job.
  • Develop employees including conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for the P&L and implementation of an annual yearly business plan for the branch, along with branch strategies.
  • Meet monthly revenue goals and stay within monthly budgeted expenses.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
