About The Position

Sterling Crane Canada, a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager for its Vancouver/Victoria location. This leadership role involves overseeing safety, sales, operations, profitability, and administration. The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy equipment crane and rigging operations, with experience in commercial sales, and the ability to build strong relationships. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment operational leadership at the branch level with proven, progressive leadership experience.
Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
High attention to detail and ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment.
As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass pre-employment testing that may include a pre-employment criminal background check and Drug and Alcohol screening.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary diploma (in business administration, management, finance, engineering, safety, sales or equivalent) is considered an asset.
Project Management Certification (PMC) is considered an asset.
Experience in crane and rigging operations is considered an asset.
Preference for successful applicants to be local to the Vancouver/Victoria region.

Responsibilities

Promote safety best practices in all aspects of branch operations.
Manage all branch operations including P&L, sales, administration & contracts.
Manage project sites and ensure that lifts are completed safely and efficiently.
Manage branch fleet (light and heavy-duty equipment), including preventative maintenance.
Improve existing customer relationships and develop new strategic relationships.
Improve market share in operational areas.
Champion continuous improvement and lean initiatives in branch operations.
