About The Position

The Branch Manager is responsible for the maintenance of all branch inventories and oversees the job performance of all branch employees. This role ensures that customer service is the branch's highest priority. The manager also ensures inventory is received accurately and properly, confirms customer shipments and inter-branch transfers are accurate and promptly confirmed, and answers phone calls, assists customers, and maintains an optimal customer delivery schedule. Routinely visiting customers is expected to ensure the branch is meeting their needs and expectations and to identify additional sales opportunities. The Branch Manager maintains, approves, and submits the daily Edit List, verifies Back Order notifications, and approves all inter-branch transfers. They communicate with vendors concerning delivery dates and approve any special or non-stock orders. The role involves approving all customer credit memos and sales orders to be voided, matching them to the Sales Reconciliation Report. The Branch Manager assures all bank deposits are made daily, oversees the job responsibilities of all departments, and evaluates job performances of all branch personnel on a regular basis. They are responsible for training branch personnel or requesting assistance from the corporate Training Coordinator. The manager communicates with vendors regarding shipping discrepancies, maintains Discrepancy Reports, and resolves transfer variances, negative on-hand inventory quantities, open receiving reports, sales orders on problem hold or pricing hold. Additionally, the Branch Manager processes bi-weekly payroll, forwards it to the Corporate Payroll Department, and forwards documents relating to new employees or those with a change of status to Human Resources. They provide input for the branch's annual budget and ensure delivery vehicles and warehouse material handling equipment are properly serviced and maintained. The role includes approving all local and freight invoices and communicating with the Regional Operations Manager to ensure optimal branch operations, completing duties assigned by the Regional Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate computers, calculators, copy machines, facsimile machines and other general office equipment.
  • Extensive use of computer monitor, keyboard and telephone is required.
  • Must be physically able to lift equipment components, parts and machinery.
  • Occasional standing bending, stooping and/or walking are required.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move, and lift or carry moderately heavy objects, equipment or materials up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and color vision for reading.
  • Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken works) and hear (perceiving sounds of nature by ear).
  • Physical appearance to the public and internal employees must be positive.
