About The Position

Direct and coordinate activities of the warehouse and showroom. This will include observing and following Company policies, standards and rules of conduct, and protecting Company and customer information. The role involves direct sales, communication, and providing assistance to clients during the selection/design process. This includes conferring with clients to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of the environment, budget, types of construction, areas of tile or stone to be installed, and other factors affecting the planning of interior environments. The Branch Manager will integrate findings with knowledge of interior design to formulate practical, aesthetic, and conducive environmental plans. They will advise clients on interior design factors such as layout and utilization of ceramic tile, natural stone, or similar products, including color schemes, textures, and pattern coordination. Rendering design ideas in the form of paste-ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimating material costs, and presenting designs to clients for approval are key aspects of the role. Planning and designing interior or exterior environments for residential or commercial settings is also required. The position involves generating sales leads and closing sales with a high percentage of potential clients found independently of Company promotional efforts, as well as closing sales with a high percentage of prospective clients who visit the Company’s showrooms. Utilizing networking and prospecting techniques to generate sales leads independent of showroom walk-in traffic is expected. Following up with all prospective clients via e-mail, written letters, and phone calls to ensure a constant line of communication is maintained during and after the selection process is crucial. Meeting the Company’s monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals is a primary objective. Assisting in maintaining showroom appearance by keeping it organized, clean, fresh, and exciting is also part of the responsibilities. The role requires participation in outside professional organizations (NKBA, ASID, NARI, HBA, etc.) and trade shows when called upon. Helping to create and develop customer accounts and taking advantage of continuing education opportunities are also expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Contact Management systems; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Forklift certification from Traditions in Tile and Stone.
