About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the VP of Branch Sales and Operations, guides branch office staff in providing quality service to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts, and solving problems within established policies and guidelines. Travel will be required during training, which will be conducted in Hattiesburg, MS and will last approximately 1 month. Requirements

  • Two to four years of supervisory experience in a credit union setting required.
  • Full working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills required for supervising the branch staff and projecting a positive and professional image as a representative of the credit union.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and assigns measurable service and sales goals to staff and tracks and monitors results.
  • Ensures the member experience is courteous, attentive, and efficient at all times, and all member relations are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff.
  • Schedules office staff, including PTO and all other time off, to ensure adequate staffing for efficient branch operation.
  • Maintains timecards and time sheets for all branch staff.
  • Evaluates the job performance of branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to members.
  • Maintains and re-orders office equipment and supplies inventory.
  • Ensures that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors office activity, including the number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personal sales, new accounts, etc.
  • Performs Loan Processor duties, including loan interviewing and processing.
  • Completes all title paperwork, researches loan values and researches vehicle history reports.
  • Assists members in solving account problems.
  • Creates and maintains a cross-selling environment within the branch.
  • Balances, replenishes and maintains ATMs.
  • Oversees safe deposit box rentals and maintains computer-generated fee for annual rental.
  • Assists in performing various member transactions including opening and closing accounts (checking, savings, Share Certificates, IRAs) withdrawals, transfers, etc.
  • Counsels members with financial problems.
  • Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions (and subordinates’ job functions) in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Program (CIP).
  • Coaches and develops branch staff pertaining to job performance.
  • Is knowledgeable of and able to complete all duties of the USR.
  • Exercises prudent care when making decisions to benefit members and protect the credit union from loss.
  • Performs as a leader who interacts with staff and members to ensure fair and unbiased treatment of all.
  • Manages security and safety for the branch, with responsibility to maintain the alarm system and to alert staff of any changes.
  • Ensures application of and compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Resolves difficult member issues and exercises authority to make appropriate exceptions to policy and procedure.
  • Supports the credit union’s vision and philosophy and actively participates in training sessions and special promotions.
  • Seeks out, trains, and mentors potential candidates for leadership positions within the credit union.
  • Remains informed of credit union products, services, procedures, new developments, and knowledge of the competition and their products.
  • Implements innovative programs and services in the branch.
  • Manages branch facilities, with responsibility for its overall physical maintenance.
  • Produces and mails adverse action notices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
