The Branch Manager builds, develops, coaches, and manages a successful team within a branch or branches. This role acts as a team leader responsible for supervising the retail area and is accountable for the overall profitability and efficient operation of the retail area of the branch. The Branch Manager collaborates with the Retail Sales Manager, Lending Division President, and other branch staff on the overall management of the branch, including strategic planning and attaining established branch sales goals, objectives, deposit growth, and staff development. This role shares in the responsibility of branch growth, ensures standard operating procedures are followed, and provides guidance and training to branch personnel on operating problems, handling exceptions, and adjustments. The Branch Manager also assists internal and external auditors, acts as a resource for retail employees and other departments regarding customer issues, and resolves complex customer problems. A thorough understanding of Central Bank of Oklahoma’s (CBOK) services, operations, and organization is required, along with the ability to communicate this understanding and refer inquiries appropriately. The role actively participates in the STEP program, attends sales and STEP training, utilizes STEP program initiatives, and works with senior management to set and achieve STEP goals. Additionally, the Branch Manager makes referrals for banking products and services, actively solicits business through joint calling efforts, and develops an annual Branch Business Plan. This role is responsible for recruiting and developing staff to ensure proper staffing levels, completing accurate performance management reviews and individual development plans, and reviewing and monitoring individual staff compensation. Personnel administration, including training, development, coaching, counseling, and performance reviews, is a key responsibility. The Branch Manager also makes recommendations and decisions on hiring, discipline, promotion, transfers, and termination of staff. The role meets retail sales goals related to product sales, referrals, and deposit growth, implements the sales strategy through leading sales meetings and coaching, and teaches sales skills by setting an example. Understanding and practicing security procedures, including robbery response and post-robbery procedures, is essential. The Branch Manager maintains security controls to prevent fraud and risk, monitors security procedures, and ensures staff understanding and compliance. Ensuring staff understanding of their role in case of robbery and proper post-robbery procedures is critical. The role also ensures staff's thorough knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues, such as Bank Secrecy Act and various Regulations, and their appropriate application in daily operations. Attendance at all required training is mandatory.
