The ASCPL is hiring a Branch Library Manager, with a focus on adult librarianship, at our North Hill Branch to lead a team of employees to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life in the city often referred to as Akron’s International District. The North Hill Branch Library Manager works 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, as both a manager and a Librarian. As a Manager, the role supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, hires, and manages performance to organization goals and expectations. The Manager also fosters community engagement, manages budgets and resources, and, as a Librarian with a focus on adult customers, performs all librarian functions, including programming, merchandizing, and collection maintenance.
