Requirements

  • Medical Office Assistant Diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience in healthcare office administration
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Outstanding customer service and telephone etiquette
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathetic, adaptable, and team-oriented approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TELUS Med Access EMR (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Coordinate and manage clinician schedules
  • Process and manage incoming referrals
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient charts
  • Maintain electronic medical records
  • Communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team members
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Provide professional and courteous telephone and front-office support
  • Carry out additional tasks as required to meet business needs
