About The Position

The brake press operator is responsible for handling all machine press operations for the organization. This role involves setting up and operating brake press and/or other machines to support operations. The operator will be responsible for the movement and positioning of workpieces into the machine, selecting appropriate feed rates, cutting speeds, depths of cut, and tooling. They will also verify that finished work conforms to specifications and may occasionally machine plastics or non-metal products. The role requires detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, and following safety procedures. Additionally, the operator will perform inspections of machined products, document results, and complete necessary paperwork. Assistance in other work areas for fabrication and lay-up may also be required, along with other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of factory/manufacturing experience with blaster or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Set-up and operation of brake press and/or other machines to support the operation.
Movement and positioning of workpieces into machine either manually or with the hoist.
Selects feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, and tooling to be used.
Verification that finished work is in conformance and may machine plastics or non-metal products on occasion.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results, and completes and maintains paperwork for parts.
Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, and may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
