About The Position

The Brake Operator sorts and stages brake shoes and operates automatic, robotic, or manually fed machinery in support of production goals. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency and quality while reducing costs and maintaining a safe work environment for the operator and coworkers. The operator monitors production and product quality, troubleshoots equipment issues, completes setups and changeovers, performs routine equipment maintenance and quality inspections, and keeps the work area orderly and clean, including preparing it for the next operator at the end of the shift. Additional duties may be assigned by the Supervisor and/or Team Lead.

Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability and willingness to take and follow direction from management.
Willingness and ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Must be willing to submit to a background check, employment verification, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment errors, identify their causes, and seek ways to prevent recurrence.
Monitor production to maintain high quality levels.
Perform setup and changeover processes efficiently.
Seek ways to improve production efficiency, safety, and quality while reducing costs.
Maintain safe operations for self and coworkers.
Inspect parts during production and promptly address quality issues.
Perform routine daily equipment maintenance.
Keep equipment and the work area orderly and clean, and leave the area ready for the next operator at the end of the shift.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor and/or Team Lead.
