About The Position
Mountain View Whisman School District middle schools are seeking an Activities Coach for after-school sports programs. The Boys' Volleyball Coach will coach during Season 3, scheduled from December 7, 2026, through February 4, 2027. The season may be extended depending on championship level and postseason play. Three positions are available. Compensation is a $2,000 stipend, plus an additional $50 stipend per playoff game depending on season length and championship level. Stipends are split for shared coaching positions. Applicants must meet the certification requirements under Title V, C.C.R. Sections 5593 and 5594 before the season begins. Before undertaking individual coaching duties, they must complete the listed examinations, training, and certifications.
Requirements
- Certification under Title V, C.C.R. Section 5593 and 5594 before the beginning of the season.
- Current TB examination.
- Mandated Child Abuse Reporter training.
- First Aid and CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification.
- NFHS Concussion in Sports certification.
- NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification.
- NFHS Heat Illness Prevention certification.
Responsibilities
- Coach a middle-school boys' volleyball after-school sports program.
- Complete the required certifications and training before assuming individual coaching duties.
