About The Position

The Boys Hockey Team Assistant supports team logistics, practices, games, and administrative tasks at Watertown High School. The role assists the coaching staff with equipment, practice setup, transportation coordination, rosters, attendance, team communications, and athlete safety. It also contributes to a positive, supportive team environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and student-athletes’ academic and athletic development.

This is a stipend position in the Athletics Department, reporting to the Athletic Director. The listed salary is $2,021.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
• Ability to react productively to change and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a sports or athletics support or assistant role; experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaching staff with team logistics, including organizing equipment, setting up practice sessions, and coordinating transportation for games and events.
• Help maintain team rosters, track attendance, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are properly set up and maintained during practices and events.
• Support practices and games by assisting with drills, tracking player performance, and ensuring athletes’ safety.
• Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and other school staff to help the program run smoothly.
• Assist with team communications, including reminders about practices, games, and meetings.
• Support the overall goals of the athletic program and contribute to a productive, positive team atmosphere.
