About The Position

Grandview Heights Schools is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to serve as the JV Boys Golf Coach. This supplemental position involves supervising and instructing approximately 8-9 student-athletes, conducting regular practices, and coaching in a positive manner. The coach will be responsible for ensuring the safety of student-athletes during practices and competitions, developing training plans, and supervising/traveling with the team to contests. This role requires collaboration with the Athletic Director and Head Coach for scheduling, ordering equipment, managing fundraising, and handling disciplinary issues according to the athletic code of conduct. Communication with administration, faculty, parents, and athletes is also a key component. The working conditions may involve potential exposure to bodily fluids and occasional vehicle operation in inclement weather, with regular requirements to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Experience in the designated sport
  • Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coaching experience preferred
  • Van certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and instruct the Boys’ JV Golf team consisting of approximately 8-9 student-athletes.
  • Conduct regular practices for the team.
  • Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
  • Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
  • Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
  • Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
  • Work with the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach to schedule future contests.
  • Work with the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach to order necessary apparel and equipment.
  • Handles all fundraising projects in which athletes are engaged.
  • Handles disciplinary problems that arise following the rules set down in the athletic code of conduct in conjunction with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Works with administration, faculty, parent groups, and athletes to communicate team information.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Boys Golf Coach.
