About The Position

This position is for a Boys & Girls Tennis Coach at OCHS. The primary goal is to help students appreciate the values of discipline and sportsmanship. The coach will assist the head coach in various aspects of the athletic program, including planning, organizing practices, teaching skills and strategy, and promoting good sportsmanship. The role also involves ensuring participant eligibility, providing guidance to students, and recommending equipment purchases.

Requirements

Fundamentals of various sports.
Health and safety regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable according to Kentucky State Statutes and Kentucky Administrative Regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist coaches on one or more sports.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Promote sports in the school and community.
Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
Assist the head coach in teaching individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
Assist the head coach in teaching good sportsmanship and self control.
Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
Provide students with a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Adhere to school board policies and administrative procedures.
Adhere to the state Professional Code of Ethics.
Demonstrate punctuality and good attendance for all duties.
