About The Position

The Boys Basketball Coach at Lafayette School is responsible for educating and inspiring student athletes to be their best. This role operates under the Everett Athletics mission to foster personal growth and athletic achievement. The coach is expected to uphold educational principles and goals, ensuring athletics contribute positively to the overall school program.

Requirements

Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport.
Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens.
CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous basketball coaching experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Proper communication with principal, athletic director, and parents.
Responsible for determining the athlete’s academic eligibility.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility of area in which the assigned sport is always played when students are present.
Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached.
Supervision of the gym and locker room areas until the area is secured before and after practices and contests and bus trips.
Enforce discipline and always encourage sportsmanship like behavior.
Performs all other duties as the principal and or athletic director may deem to be in the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school.
