About The Position

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for Boys Basketball Junior Varsity Assistant Coach. The season will begin in mid-November and conclude mid-February, 2027. This person, reporting to the director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. This person is responsible for assistant coaching the JV team as well as the varsity team and middle school teams, as needed and available.

Requirements

At least 25 years of age
Have a clean driving record and a valid Washington state driver’s license.
Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required.
Experience coaching basketball at the club, high school or college level is required.
Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.
Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures.
Commitment to providing support, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as student-athletes.
Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
Maintenance and inventory of JV team equipment and apparel.
Assistance with practice plans and culture setting for the JV team.
Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
