About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with healthcare organizations to transport medical supplies, specimens, and other materials. The Box Truck Medical Delivery Driver safely transports lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, sterile processing instruments, healthcare linens, and related materials in a non-CDL commercial motor vehicle. The driver uses a handheld scanning device to track items, follows operating procedures and schedules, provides courteous and professional service, and maintains the vehicle through inspections and cleaning. The role is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at $19.00 per hour. MedSpeed provides training and a company vehicle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history; excellent driving history is required.
• Have or be able to obtain the current and appropriate class driver’s license.
• Pass a company-administered road test or be able to do so successfully.
• Provide documents required for a Driver Qualification (DQ) file.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Comfort with walking and standing for long periods.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screens.
• Have or be able to obtain DOT Medical Certification.
• Be at least 21 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Read and speak English sufficiently to converse.
• Have experience, training, or both to safely operate the type of non-CDL commercial motor vehicle involved.
• Be physically qualified by a doctor to operate a non-CDL commercial motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, sterile processing instrumentation, healthcare linens, and related materials.
• Drive a non-CDL commercial motor vehicle, such as a straight truck, throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Operate a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
