About The Position

Power-Flo Technologies is now hiring a box truck driver (16 - 18 foot trucks) to join our warehouse team. Previous box truck experience required. CDL not required. Full Time. Monday - Friday, approx. 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM. Route: We deliver in the 5 boroughs and on Long Island.

Requirements

Current, valid, and clean NYS driver’s license to operate company box trucks and vehicles (7-year clean driving record required)
Box truck (16–18 ft. or larger) and/or flatbed truck experience required; CDL not required
Ability to obtain and maintain DOT certification
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 100 pounds
Comfortable using a smartphone and computer
Ability to follow processes, procedures, and policies
Ability to work well independently, maintain a can-do attitude, and be willing to learn
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with functional English skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of Nassau, Suffolk, and the five boroughs of NYC

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough pre – trip and post trip safety inspection of the vehicle using app
Safely and efficiently pick up and deliver orders
Plan the most efficient daily delivery sequences using manifest, GPS to minimize transit time
Navigate urban and suburban routes safely, consistently meeting strict delivery deadlines.
Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicle
Secure heavy or fragile cargo using straps, load locks, and bracing to prevent shifting, damages during transit
Plan delivery route to maximize efficiency and productivity for the day
Verify manifest accuracy by counting quantity of cartons, skids, coil, etc and inspecting the condition of material prior to loading and upon delivery.
Complete delivery and pickup paperwork promptly and accurately, gathering the appropriate signatures and acknowledgements
Obey all traffic laws and parking regulations
Provide professional, prompt, and friendly customer service, acting as the face of the company at various drop-off points
Perform basic warehouse work to include, removing sold parts from stock, placing received parts on shelves, processing items for shipment, receiving, organizing etc.
