The Box Office Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling ticket sales, reservations, and customer inquiries. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One year of customer service, ticket sales, or clerical related work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service procedures and principles.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Forms and Gmail.
  • Knowledge and interest in popular culture and live entertainment.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Work well with a team and work collaboratively
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to be self-directed.
  • Willingness to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 – 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers and provide information on showtimes, pricing, seating, and promotions.
  • Sells tickets in person, over the phone, or online using the ticketing system.
  • Handles cash, credit/debit card transactions, and issues receipts or tickets.
  • Resolves customer concerns or refers them to management when necessary.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensures accurate record-keeping of sales, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Assists with will-call tickets, shipped tickets, and group reservations.
  • Monitors ticket inventory and reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Follows opening and closing procedures of the box office.
  • Collaborates with front-of-house staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adheres to all safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
