About The Position

The Box Builder will build crates and boxes for shipping product. Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Basic construction capabilities required.
Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and multiply and divide in 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency, weight measurement, volume and distance.
Detail-oriented.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Annual baseline hearing test required.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
May occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Builds specialty boxes for any product that does not fit in a standard shipping container.
Operates power tools in the wood shop, while maintaining a safe environment at all times.
Communicates closely with Shipping, OCP/OCS cell, and manufacturing personnel to obtain required crates needed on a daily basis.
Ducommun trained and certified to operate forklift. Recertification is required every 3 years.
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
