About The Position

The Bouquet Host/Hostess will present a positive first impression of the restaurant. Greet guests with a smile, respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner, inform guests of their wait times, monitor the waiting list, show guests to their table and bid farewell as guests depart.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handlers Card is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Responsible Beverage Service Card is required.
  • Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous hotel or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Previous exposure to high volume restaurant environment preferred.
  • Previous OpenTable experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer-based reservations systems preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure.
  • Ability to treat all associates in a respectful manner.
  • Exhibits integrity (honesty and truthfulness).
  • Must have excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Must have exceptional grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly throughout their shift.
  • Must be able to work up to 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the hotel’s safety policies to ensure safety and security to associates and guests.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide appropriate service such as booking reservations, advising of hours of operations and handling special requests. Return any phone messages promptly.
  • Accurately input guest reservations into OpenTable making special note of special requests or any food allergies.
  • Seat guests in a timely consistent manner, keeping in mind the balance of guest flow in the restaurant and server sections.
  • When needed, provide accurate wait times to in coming guests. Take guest information and provide accurate estimate of wait time ensuring guest requests are accommodated.  Contact the guests in a timely manner when their table is ready.
  • Communicate with bussers, runners, and food servers any messages or information that is needed to ensure the guests’ satisfaction is exceeded.
  • Observe tables, keeping track of table statuses, i.e.: seated, bussing needed and finish).
  • Thank the guests for coming, and invite them to return.
  • Ability to assist with in-room dining and take-away orders for guests of the hotel.
  • Assist with opening, closing and side work duties as needed.
  • Be familiar with Ponte menus.
  • Keep hosts and clean, organized and presentable to guests at all times.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by Management.
