About The Position

This position reports to the Service Manager. As a Boom Truck Operator, responsibilities include providing service, installation and/or repair to customers propane tanks and/or LP piping. This position performs Safety & efficiency tests, propane tank sets and hook-ups, tank pick-ups and evacuations in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations and Dead River Company policies. It also safely and productively makes deliveries of both heating oil and propane according federal and state regulations and company policy. The role actively participates in training programs to gain new skills, promotes image as a trusted advisor through a neat appearance, clean uniform, and timely, safe and courteous service, and promotes Dead River company products and services, advising customers on best options for specific needs. The operator maintains a clean and well-organized vehicle and ensures that all tools and equipment are in safe operating condition. On call and overtime may be required to meet customer demand. All job functions are performed according to state and federal regulations and company policy, and all accidents, spills, and liability claims are reported.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of experience as either a service technician or delivery driver.

  • Appropriate CETP certification and/or state specific LP service technician licensing is required, or the ability to obtain this certification and licensing.
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement is required.
  • CETP training and certification is required to deliver propane and tanks.
  • Apprentice oil burner license is required for oil delivery drivers who prime furnaces.
  • All CDL drivers must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical.
  • All CDL drivers are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Boom Operators certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities
