About The Position

This position reports to the Service Manager. As a Boom Truck Operator, responsibilities include providing service, installation and/or repair to customers propane tanks and/or LP piping. Essential Functions As a Boom Truck Operator this position performs Safety & efficiency tests, propane tank sets and hook-ups, tank pick-ups and evacuations in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations and Dead River Company policies. Eliminates call-backs and reduces liability by ensuring that all work is performed safely and accurately. As a Delivery Driver this position safely and productively makes deliveries of both heating oil and propane according federal and state regulations and company policy. Actively participates in training programs to gain new skills in order to be most effective in role. Promotes image as a trusted advisor through a neat appearance, clean uniform, and timely, safe and courteous service. Promotes Dead River company products and services. Advises customers on best options for specific needs. Maintains a clean and well-organized vehicle. Ensures that all tools and equipment are in safe operating condition. On call and overtime may be required to meet customer demand. Performs all job functions according to state and federal regulations and company policy. Reports all accidents, spills, and liability claims.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of experience is required as either a service technician or delivery driver

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Appropriate CETP certification and/or state specific LP service technician licensing is required, or the ability to obtain this certification and licensing
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement is required
  • CETP training and certification is required to deliver propane and tanks
  • Apprentice oil burner license is required for oil delivery drivers who prime furnaces
  • All CDL drivers must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical
  • All CDL drivers are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Frequent driving, standing, walking, and sitting
  • Occasional to frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing
  • Frequent use of the hands/arms to reach, feel, handle, lift or pull
  • Frequent communication involving both talking and listening
  • Technicians move various sized objects weighing from a few ounces to over 100 pounds
  • Delivery Drivers must be able to pull a delivery hose weighing up to 75 pounds a distance of up to 150 feet
