About The Position

A Bookseller is an integral member of the bookstore team, welcoming customers, answering questions, and helping readers find suitable books and products. Booksellers are expected to demonstrate reliable attendance, flexibility when scheduling gaps arise, a positive and energetic approach to assigned work, consideration for colleagues, cheerful customer service, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for bookselling. They work as part of a busy team and are trained to master the operational competencies of the role, including using store technology, merchandising, register operation, receiving and shelving deliveries, locating products, assisting the café team when needed, and following loss-prevention and de-escalation procedures. As they gain experience, Booksellers build knowledge of books and other store products, maintain sections and backstock, make recommendations, and help support sales objectives and new releases. The position may involve working in other stores in the wider Cluster when able and needed.
