About The Position

The Books Sales and Marketing Assistant assists with the tasks needed to execute sales and marketing tactics to expand the reach of APA Style, APA Books and Magination Press Children’s Books with the goal of increasing revenue and the reach of our marketing efforts and branding. The successful candidate will: Support day-to-day activities necessary for the successful operation of the book sales and marketing department. Self-start and learn fast, contributing to how books are optimally sold and marketed Be detailed oriented Establish a deep understanding of our book content, both front and backlist

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required related to sales, marketing, communications, writing, English, or branding
• MS Office Suite
• Writing and editing proficiency
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace
• Enthusiasm for books, publishing, and sales and marketing
• Understanding of APA’s mission and how it relates to the publishing program

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience in Sales and marketing or publishing is a plus.
• Relevant book publishing experience, which can include internships
• Desire to learn the craft of book publishing marketing and sales
• Familiarity with Bookscan, Firebrand, Onix, Salesforce, and Canva is helpful

Responsibilities

• Assists with the execution of sales and marketing plans
• Supports tactical aspects of sales and marketing strategies and objectives
• Prepares and distributes internal news alerts
• Arranges for the distribution of review copies
• Design and uploads Amazon A+ content
• Creates author flyers and other collateral
• Helps with webinars and other presentations
• Delivers, reviews, and extracts leads from author questionnaires
• Researches sales and marketing opportunities
• Optimizes metadata
• Other duties as assigned
