About The Position

The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks in the Finance Department and provides administrative and clerical support to the Finance Department. This role requires someone who enjoys handling detailed, routine, and repetitive tasks, is professional and trustworthy with sensitive information, and is able to work independently with attention to detail. The organization is a faith-based organization.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with the QuickBooks accounting system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in the non-profit industry

Responsibilities

  • Processes and posts all contributions and other deposits to financial systems
  • Assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Processes and posts all bills and payables for payment to accounting system
  • Prepares signed checks for mailing or hand delivery
  • Oversee and maintain the integration systems for credit card reconciliations. Distributes credit card expense reports to cardholders and keeps cardholders accountable to submission deadlines established by the Department
  • Processes and posts payroll to financial systems
  • Oversees the integration of financial systems, ensures wages are allocated to the appropriate classes, posts any necessary adjusting entries, and supports ongoing system improvements. Maintains vendor files
  • Assists the Accounting service with the reconciliations, reporting, annual fiscal audit Form 990, and other finance responsibilities as needed
  • Assists with other tasks as needed by the Finance Department
