We are seeking a highly capable and motivated individual to join our dynamic, entrepreneurial team as a Bookkeeper. Our Bookkeeper will perform the bulk of our daily accounting transactions, including processing all accounts payable, booking bank transactions, and maintaining the general ledger. Our new Bookkeeper will work directly with the Corporate Controller and other members of our corporate team in downtown Vancouver. About the Role Accounts Payable: process invoices and payments for suppliers. Match bank transactions to suppliers invoices. Transactions: Maintaining general ledger for each company in our portfolio; assisting with payroll entries. Reconcile credit card transactions. Balance intercompany transactions. Reconciliations: Balance intercompany transactions. Reconcile cash receipts weekly. Reconcile clearing accounts. Other duties as assigned Who You Are You are a quick learner and eager to help out to meet project and business demands in a fast-paced environment. You are responsible, detail oriented and take great pride in the quality of your work. This role is open to new graduates. You will be an essential part of our Accounting team.

Requirements

  • Completed studies in Accounting, with an undergraduate degree (or equivalent).
  • Work experience in an administrative, corporate or customer service environment.
  • A strong understanding of the ASPE accounting framework, including consolidations and acquisitions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders including the corporate team, hospital-level teams, hospital owners and outside advisors and professionals.
  • The ability to work on and complete tasks independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in a staff accounting, bookkeeping or accounts payable position. This is valuable, but not required.
  • Work experience in payroll administration would be considered an asset.
