About The Position

NewsNation is seeking a hardworking, creative, and proactive booking producer for its primetime and digital programming. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of newsmakers and political leaders. In this role, you will collaborate with show producers to schedule guest appearances on programs to discuss current events and breaking news. Essential skills include excellent organizational abilities, effective communication, attention to detail, and the capacity to perform well under deadline pressure. This position is located at the network's offices in New York, NY.

Requirements

• Extensive list of contacts, and ability to find and book high-profile guests, as well as people at the center of major news stories
• Flexibility with your hours, as breaking news or major events warrant
• Five or more years of experience in television
• Strong editorial judgement
• Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics
• Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings
• Experience with Lexis Nexis, ENPS would be valuable

Responsibilities

• Pitch stories daily
• Identify top tier guests, cultivate relationships, and arrange guest appearances on the show
• Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on a range of topics
• Organize and produce elements for show segments
• Monitor the latest news and locate people, images, and sound editorial information via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Dataminr, YouTube, and other platforms
• Find reliable guests/witnesses quickly during breaking news situations
• Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
