About The Position

Guardian Roofing is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage financial operations, focusing on construction-specific accounting. This role involves daily data synchronization between AccuLynx and QuickBooks, processing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate job costing. The Bookkeeper will also handle subcontractor management, process weekly payroll, and manage regulatory filings. Additionally, the role requires generating reports on cash flow and project profitability, ensuring seamless financial integration and compliance within the construction industry.

Requirements

Expert-level QuickBooks Online/Desktop & AccuLynx experience.
Minimum 2+ years in Construction/Trades (Roofing preferred).
Strong understanding of California labor laws and mechanics' lien laws.
High attention to detail.
Ability to "detective" discrepancies between CRM and Accounting software.

Responsibilities

Manage daily data flow between AccuLynx and QuickBooks, ensuring accurate mirroring of job costs, invoices, and payments.
Process vendor invoices and assign them to the correct job folders.
Monitor "Job Progress" status in AccuLynx to generate and send progress billings, final invoices, and statements.
Perform weekly reconciliations of all bank and credit card accounts in QuickBooks.
Maintain granular tracking of "Estimated vs. Actual" costs for job costing and alert management of potential overspending.
Verify insurance certificates for "1099" crews before processing payments.
Manage weekly payroll for in-house crews, including California-specific overtime and prevailing wage requirements.
Prepare and file Southern California local sales taxes.
Assist with annual Workers' Comp audits.
Provide weekly reports on "Cash on Hand" vs. "Upcoming Trade Payables."
Generate monthly P&L statements per project type.
