About The Position

The Book and Press Operator processes Lamination inner and outer Layer covercoat and final stiffener through the PHI Press Machine and ensures that all jobs are processed in accordance with Team leader direction, Traveler information, work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. The available work schedule consists of second-shift hours (4:00pm - 12:30am); however, training will take place during the first shift (7:30am - 4:00pm).

Requirements

Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Ability to read and understand documents such as travelers, standard operating procedure, instructions, and safety rules in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
Must be detailed oriented and self-motivated
Must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions
Must be able to work overtime as required
Successful candidate must be available to train during 1st Shift (7:30am to 4:00PM)
Must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents

Responsibilities

Reviews SOPs, work instructions, Team leader direction and the Traveler to ensure compliance with specifications; verifies that prior process was properly completed and that quantities match; scans job into PROCIM to ensure compliance with specifications
Reviews Process Analysis Log and signs off before starting shift
Prepares layers or final stiffeners on a steel lam plate and stacks up; inserts into a vacuum bag and seals
Operates Hydraulic Press and Cool Press; loads and unloads layers; sets a timer and adjusts press temperature as necessary
Signs off on the Traveler, logs out in ProCIM and moves finished parts to the next scheduled process
Perform other duties as required
