About The Position

The BOM Coordinator I is an entry-level position that, under the close direction and supervision of Engineering Managers and/or peers, assists with modifying existing BOMs and setting up new BOMs for all Frymaster and Merco models. This position is technical and hands-on in nature. Reporting directly to the Mgr. Engineering Documentation, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / Technical Diploma or Certificate / Associate Degree
  • 0-1 year experience
  • Information Architecture & Categorization Skills
  • Advanced computer keyboarding skills and various Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the AS400.
  • Have basic knowledge of electric and gas functions of a fryer.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal & written communication.
  • Perform work to the required level of accuracy.
  • Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required, by company policy, for the job being performed.

Responsibilities

  • Uses ERP systems to modify or create Bills of Materials for Frymaster fryers and Merco products.
  • Keeps accurate files and follows procedures for processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Creates end items for special orders requested by Customer Service.
  • Troubleshoots BOM errors and omissions and corrects them in the AS400.
  • Provides product information, as needed (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Tech. Services, etc.).
  • Participates in and contributes to cross-functional teams.
  • Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking.
  • Clearly communicates the results and underlying risks involved with their efforts.
  • Performs other relevant duties or tasks assigned.
