About The Position

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. This program offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the energy industry while enhancing professional and interpersonal skills. Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, operating approximately 78,000 miles of pipelines and 136 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. Requirements

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of people, either during school, work, or personal life - candidate must describe in detail during the interview
  • Self-motivated and driven, with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak publicly in front of groups
  • Ability to function effectively in both a team and individual environment
  • Attention to detail and strong computer skills are essential
  • Driven to discover and determined to deliver
  • Open to travel in the United States
  • Houston Headquarters Work Location
  • Successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Nice To Haves

  • Finance, Accounting, or Management Information System majors are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Land and Right of Way Department with tasks related to the financial aspects of acquiring and maintaining land rights, easements, and agreements needed to build and operate our assets.
  • Presenting a summary of their summer to the management of the department at the end of the internship to demonstrate learned skills and provide insights on their experience to senior business leaders and key stakeholders.
