About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Boilermaker to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler-house auxiliaries. The work includes aligning structural or plate sections to assemble boiler frames, tanks, or vats according to blueprints; using hand and power tools and measuring equipment; assisting with vessel testing; cleaning boilers and furnaces; and inspecting and repairing boiler fittings and auxiliary machinery. Other duties may be assigned. The role involves working in industrial and construction environments that may include exposure to weather, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must use required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity expectations. Requirements

Minimum 4 years in industrial planning and scheduling.
NCCER certification.
Valid TWIC card.
Valid driver's license.
Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Able to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces as required.
Able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities.
Able to wear required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.

Responsibilities

Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and vats for defects such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections.
Bolt or arc-weld pressure-vessel structures and parts together using wrenches or welding equipment.
Inspect assembled vessels and components, including tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms, for defects.
Repair or replace defective pressure-vessel parts using tools and equipment such as torches, jacks, caulking hammers, power saws, threading dies, welding equipment, or metalworking machinery.
Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections or other parts into place.
Bell, bead with power hammers, or weld pressure-vessel tube ends to create leakproof joints.
Lay out heavy metal and mark bending and cutting lines using measuring and drawing instruments or templates.
Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in water-tube boiler drums.
Study blueprints to determine the locations, relationships, and dimensions of parts.
Straighten or reshape bent pressure-vessel plates or structural parts using hammers, jacks, or torches.
Shape seams, joints, or irregular edges of pressure-vessel sections or structural parts to achieve specified fit.
Position, align, and secure structural parts or assemblies to boiler frames, tanks, or pressure vessels according to blueprints.
Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on boiler foundations using blueprints and measuring instruments.
Shape or fabricate parts such as stacks, uptakes, or chutes using heavy-metalworking machines.
Clean pressure-vessel equipment using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents.
Install refractory bricks or other heat-resistant materials in pressure-vessel fireboxes.
Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop before installation to ensure proper fit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
