About The Position

The Boilermaker performs routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems, maintains various types of boilers and heating systems, monitors safe and proper operation, and keeps required operating records. The role also involves troubleshooting boiler problems, performing boiler cleaning, and notifying supervisors or maintenance personnel about safety concerns or equipment issues.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operation and maintenance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Ability to follow safety procedures and processes.
Excellent communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical or vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems.
Maintain low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
Replace defective valves, filters, or steam gauges.
Monitor boiler systems to ensure they operate safely and properly, and facilitate periodic boiler cleaning.
Test boiler water for corrosive deposits and treat it with chemicals to prevent buildup.
Maintain and update required records for boiler operations.
Address problems with boiler systems and notify maintenance when needed.
Contact a supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
