About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Boilermaker for a position in Norco, Louisiana. The role assembles, disassembles, erects, and repairs boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers, and heaters according to blueprint specifications. This is a non-exempt role reporting to a Front-Line Supervisor (Foreman). Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7–8 years of experience in the specified skill.
• Pass a written pre-employment qualification test.
• Complete a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Meet job-site safety requirements as required by the client, which may include being clean-shaven, wearing long sleeves, and wearing steel-toe boots.
• Use client-required safety equipment, which may include a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, and safety harness with lanyard.
• Demonstrated proficiency in construction tool use, such as grinders and oxy/acetylene torches.
• Rigging experience.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns and plates on foundations.
• Attach rigging or signal crane operators to lift parts into position.
• Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frames, tanks, or vats.
• Hammer, flame-cut, file, or grind irregular section edges to facilitate fitting.
• Bolt structures and sections together.
• Position drums and headers into supports or bolt supports to frames.
• Align water tubes and connect and expand tube ends to drums and headers.
• Bolt casing sections, uptakes, stacks, baffles, and fabricated parts such as chutes, air heaters, fan stands, feeding tubes, catwalks, ladders, coal hoppers, and safety hatches to frames.
• Install trays in process towers.
• Install manholes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in drums to complete water-tube boiler assemblies.
• Assist in testing assembled vessels.
