About The Position

Under direction of Facility Leadership, perform maintenance functions related to boiler operations; including but not limited to online and offline boiler tube cleaning, repair boiler tubes and cleaning equipment, and other preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance as may be required. Performs all duties and tasks in accordance manufacturer and Stericycle procedures and with strict adherence to relative safety programs and standards including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, etc. Assist Maintenance Technician in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment when needed. Operate equipment to clean fire tube boiler. Maintain and repair boiler tube cleaning equipment. Ensures all repairs are performed properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness. Performs preventive and scheduled maintenance on a daily basis on a variety of machinery within the plant. Documents results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required. Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (accredited) or GED equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience with the use of forklifts, aerial-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities.
  • 2 years’ experience with the performance of LOTO out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.

  • Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance functions related to boiler operations, including online and offline boiler tube cleaning.
  • Repair boiler tubes and cleaning equipment.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to safety programs and standards including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Electrical Safety.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.
  • Operate equipment to clean fire tube boilers.
  • Maintain and repair boiler tube cleaning equipment.
  • Ensure repairs are performed properly and efficiently to maintain operational readiness.
  • Perform daily preventive and scheduled maintenance on various plant machinery, including fire tube boilers and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, air pollution control devices (bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, carbon beds), general air pneumatics, various pumps, hydraulic systems, PH control and chemical injection, and steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
  • Document results through completed work orders.
  • Perform general work and other assignments to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility.
