About The Position

The Boiler Service Technician II performs installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial hydronic and steam boiler systems while developing advanced technical expertise in boiler equipment, controls, and combustion systems. Working with moderate supervision, this role partners with customers, contractors, senior technicians, and internal teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality field service support. The position is responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring service documentation accuracy, and supporting successful equipment operation and performance. This position has no direct reports. This position reports to VP, Aftermarket Sales & Support. This role is onsite and is based in Centennial, Colorado.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in mechanical equipment rooms, rooftops, and industrial environments.
  • Ability to understand technical products and applications
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic service reports.
  • Ability to learn technical troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • HVAC technical school certification, trade school completion, or military mechanical training preferred or 2+ years of related HVAC, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or boiler service experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, boiler service, or a related field preferred.
  • Internship, co-op, trade school lab experience, or part-time work in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read simple wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently after training while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment startups, inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Support installation verification and equipment commissioning activities on newly installed boiler systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on commercial boilers, burners, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records, and startup documentation accurately and timely.
  • Provides basic operator training and product demonstrations following equipment startup.
  • Maintain tools, service equipment, and company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and utilize required PPE while working at customer sites.
  • Participate in technical training programs to develop product and industry knowledge.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by VP, Aftermarket Sales & Support or Company management.
