About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Boiler Plant Operator to support the Fayetteville VA Medical Center located 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. The schedule is typically 12-hour shifts. Requirements

  • North Carolina High-Pressure Stationary Engineer Certification (Class 1 required)
  • Must meet requirements of VHA Directive 1810.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification
  • Confined Space Entry Certification
  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience operating high-pressure industrial or commercial steam boiler systems
  • No sponsorship available.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge/training in Water Treatment and Boiler Chemistry (strongly preferred/required by SOW).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and control: High-pressure steam boilers, Hot water generators, Feedwater systems, Pumps and compressors, Fuel systems, Water treatment equipment
  • Monitor gauges, meters, BMS/SCADA systems, combustion efficiency indicators, and safety devices.
  • Adjust controls to maintain proper pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel-air ratios.
  • Perform routine testing and sampling of: Boiler feedwater, Condensate, Cooling water
  • Adjust chemical treatment systems and blowdown operations to maintain proper water quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on: Boilers, Burners, Pumps, Valves, Piping systems, Control systems
  • Identify equipment issues and operational abnormalities.
  • Complete basic repairs and escalate major issues when appropriate.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and prepare equipment for maintenance and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate operational and maintenance logs.
  • Track system parameters, fuel usage, water quality results, and maintenance activities.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment failures, environmental concerns, and operational incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, boiler safety codes, and environmental requirements.
