Amentum is seeking a Boiler Mechanic to join our operations & maintenance team in Hillsboro, OR. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing scheduled preventative maintenance on various boiler systems, including hydronic, hot water heaters, and steam HVAC systems. The Boiler Mechanic will maintain these systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ensuring optimal operation of associated equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, controls, and air handlers. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and repairing circulating pumps, back-up pumps, heat exchangers, strainers, valves, expansion tanks, air separators, unit heaters, heating coils, and system controls. The position requires inspecting glycol and steam lines, performing preventive maintenance, monitoring and regulating fuel lines and air adjustments for boilers, and maintaining boiler control systems. Additionally, the role involves commissioning and starting up new equipment, submitting required reports, responding to emergency service calls, and maintaining accurate documentation of work performed. The Boiler Mechanic will work from various technical documents, follow and suggest revisions to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and perform tasks outdoors in challenging environmental conditions. Proactive identification and communication of safety hazards are essential, as is collaboration with other departments. The role also requires learning and using computer-based tracking applications for labor, materials, and maintenance, and complying with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Waste Management, and Quality Assurance requirements.
