About The Position

Employee will conduct in-service inspections and verify necessary calculations during the installation, operation and maintenance, of boilers and pressure vessels and guides contractors for repairs. Provides information, guidance, and unofficial interpretation of adopted codes and standards; investigates accidents and incidents; provides written and electronic reports; schedules inspections, and consultations. Employee will travel throughout North Carolina and overnights stays will be required. This is a telework position. Candidates must reside in Iredell or adjacent county within 90 days of hire date. A valid driver's license is required.

Requirements

  • High school or a General Equivalent Development (GED) diploma.
  • Four years of experience in the construction, installation, operation, or maintenance of boilers and pressure vessels; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessels' Inspectors In-Service Inspector Commission examination within the first 9 months of employment.
  • Considerable walking, climbing, bending, stooping and twisting.
  • Reside in Iredell or adjacent county within 90 days of hire date.
