We are looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our Lamb Weston Quincy team! This B&R position supports maintenance by repairing and maintaining plant wide and performing maintenance functions throughout the plant as assigned, while working under supervision.

Requirements

  • Must meet the qualifications of lower bracketed mechanic.
  • Basic understanding and awareness of electricity.
  • Basic working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic understanding of fundamentals, welding and its aspects.
  • Basic knowledge of plant operations and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Good communicator with salaried and hourly personnel over radio and in person.
  • Basic knowledge of basic mechanical skills (i.e. plumbing, measuring, changing bearings, Valve maintenance, Lubrication etc.).
  • Able to work well with others in a neat working-like manner.
  • Able to follow directions and understand tasks directed by trainer and maintenance team leader.
  • Fulfil Line Mechanic duties in Raw Receiving, Plant I, Plant II or Co-Product and boiler room.
  • Repair all drive components on plant equipment.
  • Do sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial, Residential or commercial refrigeration, boilers and allied equipment.
  • Able to operate all plant engine rooms, boilers, and freezer tunnels to meet production needs and within set operating parameters.
  • Basic understanding and able to identify all lines, valves, and components relating to the operation of the boilers and refrigeration in all plants.
  • Understand water chemistry, treatment, and in plant application.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to repair equipment within refrigeration/boiler areas.
  • Knows safety procedures for chemicals normally used and their toxicity levels and labeling.
  • Has basic knowledge of proper liquid levels, lubricants, and mixtures used in the refrigeration/boiler area.
  • Basic understanding of and being a participant in Process Safety Management Program.
  • Be able to weld, chip, grind and use all power tools safely at different heights on scaffolds, ladders and safety cages.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to use Computers and daily use of SAP.
  • Ability to pass fit test and wear APR.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull heavy items.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds six feet above the ground.
  • Work in all areas of the plant, both inside and outside during any and all-weather conditions.
  • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts, around electrical equipment and open circuits.
  • Regularly work in a work environment in which the noise level is usually high.
  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold surroundings.
  • Occasionally exposed to humid conditions as well as hot and cold environments.
  • May work on wet, icy, greasy floors.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

Nice To Haves

  • Type 1/Type 2 Universal Freon Card preferred or working on.
  • 2-year certification in refrigeration or equivalent experience.
  • RETA certified Preferred. (CARO)

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular assigned checks.
  • Keep logs up to date and fill out proper documentation in SAP.
  • Basic Equipment repair, overhaul and trouble shooting.
  • Proper start-up and shutdown of plant equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures for all work performed and follow instructions from others in a safe working habit. This includes the Trainer, Lead Mechanic and Maintenance team Leader.
  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • May be required to work any shift, any, and all days of the week, or overtime in accordance with production and maintenance schedules and applicable seniority rules.
  • Learning and able to follow precision maintenance technics.
