About The Position

A BOH Window Expeditor helps keep a smooth workflow between the kitchen and the FOH expeditor. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out faster and more efficiently. As a BOH food expeditor, you must have excellent communication skills and experience in a restaurant’s hectic setting. You must have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people. The goal is to make service faster and better to help enhance our quality and reputation. Company Overview Huey's, locally owned and operated, has been a staple of the Memphis community for 50 years. We're known for our blues, brews, burgers, excellent customer service, community outreach, and family environment. Job Summary A BOH Window Expediter (or BOH Expo) is the liaison between the kitchen and the FOH expediter. The FOH expediter directs all comments, requests, questions, and special instructions to the BOH expediter, who, then addresses the kitchen staff. The FOH Expo is the only person to communicate with the kitchen expediter during peak times. Must be friendly to all employees. BOH expos ensure the expediting area (or window) stays clean and stocked and ensures quality control of the food. A BOH expediter must possess a thorough knowledge of the entire menu and the ability to recognize all the food coming from the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing ticket orders, which are printed tickets for customer orders.
  • Working closely with the kitchen staff to prioritize outgoing meals, ensuring that no orders are lost, forgotten, or delayed.
  • Checking outgoing dishes from the kitchen pass as the final line of defense for quality control.
  • Ensuring that the food temperature is perfect and that all food safety regulations have been followed.
  • Ensuring a steady flow of information between different departments in the restaurant, including FOH expediter, servers, and kitchen staff.
  • Enabling seamless communication without disrupting the workflow at each station.
  • Ensuring orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
  • Checking dishes before delivery to the FOH expediter for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
  • Delivering orders to maintain fast service.
  • Keeping the expediting area (or window) clean and stocked.
