About The Position

Kansas City Peterbilt is seeking experienced Body Shop Technicians for our quickly growing Body Shop Department! We are looking for individuals with one year or more experience (preferred) as a Body Shop Technician, Mechanic, or Collision Repair who are ready to go to work and be a part of a growing team in our Body Shop Department. Applicants need to be self-motivated, dependable, perform all tasks to the best of their ability, and work well with coworkers. We provide onsite / hands-on training! Body Shop Technicians employed will perform all aspects of body repair for heavy & medium-duty body. From the front of the bumper to the back taillight - WE DO IT ALL! Kansas City Peterbilt is a fully certified Peterbilt Dealership through Paccar, Cummins, Caterpillar, Allison, Eaton, Dana & Meritor. We specialize in all areas of On and Off highway collision, customization to new or used vehicles, truck add-ons, and warranty repairs.

Requirements

  • Heavy lifting required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude within department.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive resourcefulness & versatility in a fast-paced, always changing, environment.
  • Must be willing to listen and follow directions/advisement from leadership team.
  • Understands the importance of safety in the work environment.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • One year or more experience (preferred) as a Body Shop Technician, Mechanic, or Collision Repair.
  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor body repairs.
  • Perform fiberglass repairs.
  • Perform aluminum body panel repairs and replacement.
  • Perform steel and aluminum welding.
  • Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM, Quality Control).
  • Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform HVAC diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform air brake diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform suspension and steering diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently.
  • Responsible to adhere to all warranty policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnose and repair.
  • Provide accurate documentation on repair orders.
