About The Position

Paints, polishes, and repairs physical damage on diesel trucks by performing the following duties: Develop and/or review vehicle repair plan estimates. Paint surfaces of vehicles using spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques. Inspect panels to be painted for body repair, prepping and/or buffing defect. Mix to specified color using standard formulas or color charts. Sand, mask, blend, and polish finish to match surrounding areas. Using a brush, apply or retouch paint as necessary. Remove and install parts that need to be painted, repaired or are blocking a part needing repaired/painted. Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., provide technical assistance to helpers, orient and train new employees, etc. Follows all OSHA and DNR regulations and safety requirements for a safe work environment and proper disposal of all waste material. Repair collision damaged vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and company standards. Ability to weld aluminum and steel. Remove and reinstall interiors. Inspect vehicles for dimensional accuracy and test drive them to ensure proper alignment and handling. Maintain clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred
  • Must have a strong work history
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Candidate must be able to pass a pulmonary fit test prior to being hired
  • Must be able to lift and carry 140lbs and pull and push 20lbs
  • Position requires constant standing, forward reaching, grasping and finger manipulations
  • Must wear safety glasses and respirator as required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Candidates must be able to obtain forklift certification
  • Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
  • As a condition of employment, all PRIME associates must comply with PRIME’s OHSA safety training and any related company rules, protocols, and programs
